Hello and welcome.

My name is Federica, I am a registered Psychologist, Clinical Psychosexual Therapist and the Director of Tailoring Therapy.

I’m a registered psychologist, clinical psychosexual therapist, and the founder of Tailoring Therapy. With over a decade of experience across both government and private sectors, I support individuals, couples, and families through deeply personal and often complex experiences. My work centres around identity, intimacy, trauma, and relational connection, and I bring a tailored, warm, and evidence-based approach to each therapeutic relationship.

In my years of being a therapist, I have developed the belief that psychological interventions and therapy should be tailored to the person's uniqueness. In my approach, I aim to provide knowledge and education, develop awareness, and encourage change, if that is what you are seeking.

My qualifications include:

  • Bachelor of Psychology (Honours)

  • Graduate Diploma of Professional Psychological Practice

  • Graduate Diploma of Sexology

  • Master of Science in Medicine (Advanced), Sexual and Reproductive Health – Psychosexual Therapy

I have also completed advanced clinical training in:

  • EMDR (Advanced)

  • Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level III)

  • Schema Therapy

My clinical work focuses on helping people navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, identity concerns, personality disorders, sexual difficulties, and relationship issues. I work with many clients who describe feeling “stuck,” disconnected, ashamed, or overwhelmed by their internal world or the demands of others. In therapy, I aim to provide a safe, attuned space where we can gently explore patterns, build insight, and foster meaningful change.

In relationships, I often support couples through breakdowns in communication, intimacy issues, recurring conflict, and life transitions such as parenting or grief. I integrate Gottman Method principles with psychosexual and schema-informed frameworks to help couples rebuild safety, improve emotional connection, and address sexual and relational barriers with compassion and structure.

My background also includes work in child protection and forensic settings. I worked with complex trauma, institutional harm, and high-risk presentations. These roles shaped my trauma-informed lens and enhanced my capacity to support clients with layered histories of shame, neglect, and abuse.

A defining chapter in my career was leading group therapy programs in a private hospital setting. Facilitating group-based psychotherapy ignited my passion for group work and its transformative potential. I saw clients experience connection, insight, and healing through shared stories, emotional resonance, and corrective relational experiences that individual therapy alone cannot always provide. Since then, I have remained a strong advocate for the accessibility and impact of therapeutic groups.

I offer therapy in both English and Italian.

Professional Leadership & Practice Ownership

In addition to my clinical work, I am the owner and director of two psychology practices in Perth: Tailoring Therapy and Perth Psychology Collective. Both practices reflect my commitment to creating spaces that are client-centred, ethically grounded, and clinically excellent. Importantly, they are also educational practices, committed to nurturing the next generation of psychologists. We regularly employ and supervise provisional psychologists, supporting their growth through hands-on learning, reflective practice, supervision and mentorship.

I also hold leadership positions within the profession. I am the Chair of the APS Perth Branch and Treasurer of the Society of Australian Sexologists (SAS). In these roles, I contribute to the advancement of psychological and psychosexual practice through community engagement, professional development initiatives, and advocacy for our professions.

I bring to every space—whether clinical, supervisory, or organisational—a deep respect for people’s stories, a commitment to curiosity and integrity, and a belief in the power of therapy to create meaningful, lasting change.
